The original AFTN Udorn station was located on the north side of the cantonment side of the base near the base pool and around the corner from the base hospital. The front door to the station faced toward the southeast in the direction of the pool. AFTN Radio began broadcasting in April, l967, as part of the then Armed Forces Thailand Network, an affiliate of the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service.
